VoCare develops mobile professional grade medical multi-diagnostic device

MDBR Staff Writer Published 26 February 2018

VoCare has developed what is claimed to be the world’s first mobile professional grade medical multi-diagnostic device for both point-of-care and remote patient monitoring applications.

Featuring WiFi, Bluetooth and 4G LTE capabilities for data transmission, the Vitals360 device is claimed to be the first and only telehealth solution that can collec six different health vitals.

The device offers vital measurements of blood glucose, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, temperature and electrocardiography (ECG).

It operates on Android OS supported by Qualcomm chipsets, enabling to use with virtually any wireless carrier worldwide such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, Rogers, and Vodafone.

In addition, the device can be used with multiple backend solutions.

According to GEMMS of Harris Computer Systems, Vitals360 will allow healthcare professionals to meet the needs of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Transitional Care and Chronic Care management programs.

The device is also said to be positioned for the use of electronic information and mobile technologies to support remote clinical healthcare and other healthcare delivery functions as proposed in the Chronic Care Act.

GEMMS will introduce the Vitals360 device at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems (HIMMS) conference that will take place in March this year.

VoCare is involved in securing CE mark approval and 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the Vitals360 medical multi-diagnostic device.

VoCare CEO Steven Peabody said: "We are looking forward to helping providers reduce healthcare costs as well as ensuring better outcomes for their exploding chronically ill patient population."

GEMMS executive vice president Rodger Pinto said: "The VoCare Vitals360 device along with GEMMS extensive experience in data management and interoperability will allow patient data to be captured easily from anywhere, at any time and sent in real time to providers."
